NEWS FOR FEBRUARY 2012!

Greetings All!! Have you kept your New Year resolutions? Well if not, don't worry we all have weak moments, just jump back on the wagon and move forward! The new year always makes me look for new ideas and ways to make life easier, healthier and more organized.

If one of your resolutions was to get organized in 2012, hopefully you will find one or more of my tips interesting, informative and helpful.

Closet Cleanup- Organize your closets so you can stop wasting time searching for misplaced items.

1) Take inventory, toss what you have not worn. How many black pants do you actually own? Hang them together and edit out any you don't wear along with the ones that no longer fit. If it hasn't been off the hanger in a year or more....THROW it OUT....or Give it away!

2) Sort by size, colour & type- hang tops and bottoms together and sort by colour so you can mix and match easily. If your closet is big enough you could also sort by work wear, weekend and dress up.

3) Use all the space in your closet- add extra shelves or racks, hooks on the backs of doors and double rods if the space is deep. Place the things you are not using everyday up high.

4) Sort shoes- get rid of the ones hat hurt your feet, refurbish others. If the heels are worn and you love them, take them to the shoemaker. Store shoes in clear or labeled boxes or in shoe bags hung over the backs of doors.

We are celebrating our 10th Anniversary this year, and currently designing new and exciting gifts to assist you in selecting that perfect gift for any occasion!  Please check back often as we will be adding new designs over the next couple of months!

There are so many upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, as well as Valentine's Day, Easter, Administrative Assistant's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day...it is endless. We are here to help. When you are stuck for a gift...well Give 'em a Basket! We can even custom design one to fit your recipient, just ask us.

Our recipe for FebruaryHERB & SWISS POPOVERS

Popovers are sumilar to Yorkshire puddings. This version has added herbs and Canadian Swiss Cheese. Serve them as a side dish with chicken, pork or roast beef.

You'll need:

3 Eggs@ room temperature

1 1/4 cup of milk

1 1/4 cup of all purpose flour

1 cup shredded Swiss Cheese (Havarti works well too)

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

2 tsp chopped fresh thyme or chives. (If you like the taste of fresh rosemary it works well) Especially if you like to serve this as a side dish with lamb.

Salt & Pepper to taste, 1 tbsp melted butter.

Preheat over to 425F. In a large bowl, beat eggs, then blend in milk. Add flour and blend well. Stir in cheese, parsley, thyme, salt and pepper. Brush a non stick muffin pan with the butter to coat. Heat in oven for 2 minutes. Remove from oven and scoop batter into cups, about 1/3 cup in each. Bake for 20 minutes until puffed and golden brouwn. Reduce oven to 350F and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes or until knife comes out clean.  Let cool for 2 minutes...Enjoy!

There are many ways you can use gift baskets to build customer relationships, & increase loyalty. An appropriate, well timed, uniquely designed gift basket can help your business leave a great impression which will in turn create a lasting impression and future referrals as they recommend you to others, therefore growing your business. Despite the economy's downturn, corporate gift giving can help you in many ways, as it becomes even more important to retain your valuable employees, clients and customers. What better way to make an impression, than with a thoughtful gift which is unique in itself. Nothing pre-made at Give 'em a basket. Many local companies carry the same designs....These are picked up at a supplier pre-made. Our baskets are designed, and  made as ordered to your specifications. If you have a diabetic on your list, someone elderly or would like something a little different, we can help!

At Give 'em a Basket we provide solutions to everyday situations. How you ask? Imagine if your professional and personal life could be made easier and more memorable. Have you forgotten a special occasion, made a slip of the tongue to a business colleague you regretted, or a friend has passed away and wish to send condolences to the family? We are your one stop solution for all your gifting needs at affordable prices!!

Call us and let us show you what we can do for you!!

Remember none of our baskets are premade. They are prepared as ordered,  keep this in mind when searching for a gifting company. Many are pre-made and sit on a shelf awaiting an order.

For our business clients, please note that we can include your business card and any company branded gift item you may wish to put in the gift basket to your clients. These could include memory stick, mugs, pen & pencil set or a gift card.

For those that have a small home based business and not a huge budget, we have some nice selections and can also include your card and small item with your thank you gifts. Some examples of things businesses can include are:

Dentist- Travel size brush & toothpaste.

Physio and Massage Therapists- Pedometers or Stress ball.

Nail Technicians & Hair Dressers- Nail file, small sample size hand cream, or small sample size shampoo & conditioner.

Optometrists-Eyeglass wipes.

Realtors & Mortgage brokers- Magnets with calendars attached, conversion magnets (Imperial to metric) , Pens & pads.

Pet Groomers- Small bag of dog treats.

Car Sales person- Car airfreshner.

Accountants & Financial planners- Mini purse size calculator with pen and pad.

Well, these are just a few suggestions, you may have your own ideas. But just to let you know they are great add ons to any gift to say thanks, we appreciate your business!

"New" We now offer the option when purchasing a new born gift, you may add at a discounted price a sibling gift for no additional shipping!

When searching for a gifting company, please take note when reading peoples "Testimonials" If they did such a great job for their clients, why not have their name and or company fully represented. I get cautious when I am on any site where they just put a first name or intial, names and how they did can be made up. We are proud of the job we do and thankful to our wonderful clients who acknowledge such! Thank you all.

Important information! My old website www.giveemabasket.com has recently been purchased before I could resubmit the application. Please be advised it is by no means related to my company what so ever and  has nothing to do with my new site. Thank you!
